Description
Franklin Mint/Collection Armour - FW190 Focke Wulf - LuftwaffeNo. 98045/B11B228, Scale - 1:48
Unit - Unidentified - I./JG 54 - mostly flew on Eastern Front and was the second most highest scoring wing in the Luftwaffe (after JG 52). Plane belonged to Feldwebel Karl "Quax" Schnorrer who had 48 combined victories.
Campaign - Unidentified - Operation Barbarossa Army Group North with two focus areas from 1941-43: 1) keep pressure applied to the Leningrad Sector and 2) reduce Soviet pressure on the Lake Ilmen area at the German flank.
Markings - white winter camouflage with No. 9 in black outlines with green heart and cross with yellow stripe. Various unit insignia (including Nurnberg coat of arms-eagle and red bends) on fuselage and tail.
Model - FW190 Jagdgeschwader 54 - "Green Heart" of Thuringia - Aces also included Nowotny (No. 8), Kittel, Bob, Ostermann, Broch and Trautloft. The more powerful FW-190 replaced the Messerschmitts Bf-109Fs.
Condition - New with minor wear on box.
